Inga Utkilen

Skipper

Inga started her sailing career with a spontaneous purchase of a boat in 2019 and a decision to become a liveaboard. Without any prior knowledge of sailing, it was a challenging start, but it was still filled with joy and a great sense of achievement. Now, the best thing Inga knows is to turn off the engine and explore new places under sail, preferably with good friends. And the best part of being a skipper at Seilnorge is meeting new friends, going on adventures together and sharing the joy of sailing with everyone who comes aboard.

Ben Tompkins

Ben Tomkins

Crew

Ben is born in English and moved to Norway 4 years ago originally to pursue a career as a skydive photographer. Ben and his girlfriend bought and rebuilt an old swedish boat and have been captured by the sea ever since. In the last 2 years they have sailed from Norway all the way to the Canaries, but nothing beats the beautiful coastal sailing of Norway! His favorite part about sailing Norway is the dramatic backdrop whilst weaving through tight channels and skerries. Ben thinks the best thing about sailing is the peace and tranquility after the rush of setting the sails.

Marion Le Tilly

Skipper

Sailing fills Marion with deep happiness, always bringing a smile to her face as she feels the wind push the boat. She fell for Norway when she came as a guest in 2023. “I absolutely love sailing with SeilNorge; it’s like living five days in one! I get to have so many incredible experiences and meet wonderful people,” she shares warmly. Marion is committed to making sustainable choices, like taking the train (all the way from Zurich to northern Norway!) and eating plant-based meals.

Lutz Kohne

Lutz Kohne

Skipper

Meet Lutz, the sailing sauna master from Haselünne, Germany, who learned the ropes just after buying a boat on eBay back in 2018. Finishing his political science degree at sea while sailing his “Little Olive”, he ended up becoming a professional race director and skipper, organising events such as the Golden Golden Race. He has crossed the Atlantic single-handedly and is now preparing to race solo and non-stop around the globe. Sailing up north in the high latitudes, you will find him chasing the best breeze to make sure that his crew has the best time, both ashore and on land in the different ports.

Arne Opperud

Arne Opperud

Skipper

Meet Arne, skipper at SeilNorge, being a former Norwegian Army Officer. He has lived and worked both internationally and in Northern Norway for many years. Started dinghy sailing as a child, now cruising the sea of Skagerrak, Kattegat, Baltic Sea and The North Sea all year round in his sailboat. Arne doesn’t leave the harbour without a fishing line and he loves to explore the inner leads of the magnificent coastline of northern Norway.

Olof Bengtsson Cerne Crew

Olof Bengtsson Cerne

Crew

Sailing captivates Olof for its sustainability and the harmony with nature, sailing into uncharted territories powered by nature. His journey into sailing began in childhood, learning skills as a skipper in the Mediterranean before discovering the Arctic fjords. With SailNorway, he enjoys the stunning locations, adventurous guests and thrilling sailing experiences that keep him hooked. On every voyage, his father’s vintage camera (as shown in the profile picture) is a must-have, preserving memories of the journey. Starting as a dinghy sailor and now more offshore sailing, his love for exploration extends to both open seas and island-strewn landscapes, each offering its own enchantment.

Rolf Ravne Skipper

Rolf Ravne

Skipper

Rolf was a guest at Seil Norge Ski & Sail in Lyngen, and fell in love with the SeilNorge concept. He thought it was a perfect match, sailing in the Arctic and being united with the fabulous nature of the north. He now enjoys the challenges of sailing with constant new guests, friends and crew. — I learn something new on each voyage! Although I’m from the south in Norway; the small, picturesque town of Drøbak, I’ve started to believe that my heart belongs to the north, he says.

Crew Petter Simonsen 3

Petter Simonsen

Crew

Sailing fills Petter with an immense feeling of freedom and mastery, as he glide “for free” with the wind at just the perfect speed to truly savor and soak in the surrounding nature. Petter loves the life on a sailboat and being able to fix stuff on board is a skill that comes in handy for him. Meeting all the amazing and inspiring people coming from very different backgrounds and walks of life sharing the same passion for adventure (and sailing!), is what I like most about sailing with SeilNorge.

Helena Laursen 2

Helena Laursen

Skipper

Meet Helena, the water and snow fanatic who ditched her architect gig to become a fulltime skipper! She’s based in Sweden and has sailed all around – from the chilly Nordic waters to the sunny Mediterranean, the Caribbean and across the Atlantic a few times. But her heart truly belongs to the northern latitudes. When she’s not on deck, she loves cooking and indulging in delicious dishes. SailNorway is the perfect match for her, combining her love for sailing and good food.

Andreas Loe

Andreas Loe

Sales manager
andreas@seilnorge.no

Andreas has been sailing since the times when a 24 foot sailboat was a reasonably sized boat for families. After growing up in the beautiful Porsgrunn he spent a long time on land before joining SeilNorge in late 2023. Although he is eager to go sailing, skiing or any of the other excellent possibilities SeilNorge and Norway has to offer he will make sure our fellow sailors, hikers and explorers get the best service when they book a trip with SeilNorge. That means if he’s not in the office or answering emails or phonecalls he’s probably outdoors doing some kind of action-oriented activity.
