Nicolai has always loved being outdoors, whether at sea or in the mountains. Northern Norway holds a special place in his heart, and he feels lucky to share its beautiful coastline, wild landscapes and changing seasons with others.

With a background as a naval officer and many years of sailing, hiking and skiing, Nicolai brings experience, curiosity and a relaxed approach to life on board. What he enjoys most is getting to know the people he sails with, sharing stories and laughter, and helping everyone feel at home and part of the crew.

For Nicolai, a great trip is about much more than sailing. It’s about the people, the places and the memories created together.

Matilde is our Marketing Coordinator and outdoor enthusiast! Before joining SeilNorge, she worked with social media for major sporting events and as Event Manager for Freeski at the Norwegian Ski Federation.

Always up for an adventure, Matilde loves spending time outdoors. At SeilNorge, she gets to combine her passion for adventure with her experience in marketing, sharing stories and experiences from our sailing trips.

Meet Trygve, the steady hand at the helm who provides our guests with both security and the knowledge to gradually take control of the sailing boat. He’s not just a sailor; he’s an active mountain enthusiast who conquers the slopes both on foot and with skis. When he’s not steering the boats at SeilNorge, he’s out there participating in events and always ready to lend a helping hand to the team. Whether on land or sea, Trygve is always up for an adventure!

Emil, the founder & Captain of SeilNorge. Emil grew up on a boat at sea, among the rocky shores of Tjøme, South of Norway, and in the beautiful summer light of Helgeland. Emil works hard at the office so he can spend most of his days where he enjoys it the most: on the Helgeland coast with a fleet of sailboats brimming with adventurous expedition participants! He brought the joy of demanding navigation through islets and reefs from the Navy, and as a skipper, he’s known for giving the crew plenty of challenges and responsibilities. Emil’s grandfather spent 55 seasons in Lofoten as a fisherman, and Emil is working on matching that record!

Hailing from France, Marie-Lou comes to us with a background in tourism and a genuine love for creating memorable travel experiences.

Meet Regine — our energetic booking navigator at SeilNorge! An avid outdoor lover, she’s out exploring every weekend and knows the Norwegian coast like the back of her hand.

Regine has already joined many SeilNorge sailing trips, so she can help you find — and navigate — the perfect adventure. Structured, helpful, and indispensable in the office, she’s here to make your booking smooth and your adventure even better!

Anette is crunching numbers and taming spreadsheets with finesse. When she’s not diving deep into her Excel sheets, you’ll find her living the van life on the rugged shores of Stadt, riding the waves and surfing her heart out. She’s our financial wizard by day and a surf-obsessed camper by night!

Ben is born in England and moved to Norway originally to pursue a career as a skydive photographer. Ben and his girlfriend bought and rebuilt an old Swedish boat and have been captured by the sea ever since. In the last few years they have sailed from Norway all the way to the Canaries, but nothing beats the beautiful coastal sailing of Norway! His favorite part about sailing Norway is the dramatic backdrop whilst weaving through tight channels and skerries. Ben thinks the best thing about sailing is the peace and tranquility after the rush of setting the sails.

Meet Lutz, the sailing sauna master from Haselünne, Germany, who learned the ropes just after buying a boat on eBay back in 2018. Finishing his political science degree at sea while sailing his “Little Olive”, he ended up becoming a professional race director and skipper, organizing events such as the Golden Golden Race. He has crossed the Atlantic single-handedly and is now preparing to race solo and non-stop around the globe. Sailing up north in the high latitudes, you will find him chasing the best breeze to make sure that his crew has the best time, both on board and on land in the different ports.

Sailing captivates Olof for its sustainability and the harmony with nature, sailing into uncharted territories powered by nature. His journey into sailing began in childhood, learning skills as a skipper in the Mediterranean before discovering the Arctic fjords. With SailNorway, he enjoys the stunning locations, adventurous guests and thrilling sailing experiences that keep him hooked. On every voyage, his father’s vintage camera (as shown in the profile picture) is a must-have, preserving memories of the journey. Starting as a dinghy sailor and now more offshore sailing, his love for exploration extends to both open seas and island-strewn landscapes, each offering its own enchantment.

Rolf was a guest at Seil Norge Ski & Sail in Lyngen, and fell in love with the SeilNorge concept. He thought it was a perfect match, sailing in the Arctic and being united with the fabulous nature of the north. He now enjoys the challenges of sailing with constant new guests, friends and crew. — I learn something new on each voyage! Although I’m from the south in Norway; the small, picturesque town of Drøbak, I’ve started to believe that my heart belongs to the north, he says.
