From January 15th to 19th, we’re excited to have Pål Brekke on board as our special guide. With his deep knowledge of solar winds and atmospheric phenomena, this journey promises more than just stunning views—it’s an opportunity for discovery you don’t want to miss.

Pål Brekke has an impressive background, having worked with NASA and ESA on the SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory) mission, which has dramatically enhanced our understanding of how the Sun impacts Earth. He’s currently a senior advisor at the Norwegian Space Agency and a professor at the University Centre in Svalbard. Brekke has authored several books on solar physics and the Northern Lights, including “The Northern Lights – a Guide”, delving into both the myths and science behind this awe-inspiring phenomenon. Now, he’s joining us to provide you with an extraordinary Northern Lights experience!

Highlights of the trip

Tromsø is the ultimate destination for Northern Lights and whale watching. From January 15th to 19th, we’ll spend five days exploring the stunning areas of Lyngen, Skjervøy, Kvænangen, and Spildra. With Pål Brekke as our Northern Lights guide, expect fascinating insights and scientific “geek-outs” throughout the journey. At night, we anchor in spots free from light pollution, ensuring prime conditions for witnessing the Northern Lights. During the day, we’ll sail in search of orcas, humpbacks, and sperm whales.

Our flagship, Valiente, a large and comfortable vessel, is perfect for these winter adventures, providing a cozy base for our Arctic exploration.

In addition to sailing, our trip includes beach bonfires, fishing for our dinner, and, if conditions permit, hikes ashore.
