Sailing Expedition Greenland 2027
We are so exited! In 2027 we set sail for new adventures and exploration of Greenland, all summer long! There is
We know there are a lot of adventurers out there, waiting to explore the natural wonders, spectacular scenery and the inuit heritage of Greenland together with us!
From Iceland to Greenland’s mountainous south tip, and visu versa

23 June & 21 August, 11 days
This adventure begins in ĂŤsafjörður, Iceland, where we set sail for a 4-day ocean crossing across the Denmark Strait to the south coast of Greenland. We have plenty of time to explore the majestic landscape and fjords on the coastal voyage around Prince Christian Sound and Tasermiut. Tasermiut has some of Greenland’s, and perhaps the world’s, most magnificent alpine scenery and mountains.
Highlights;
Ocean Crossing; The Denmark Strait
A multi-day offshore passage between Greenland and Iceland, shaped by shifting weather, swell, and navigation in open Atlantic conditions. This is not a coastal hop, it’s a real expedition sailing, with full watch systems, night sailing, and the East Greenland current bringing ice into the route. A real adventure and test of teamwork at sea.
Tasermiut Fjord – Arctic Mountain Expedition Terrain
We enter one of the most spectacular fjord systems in the world, often compared to Patagonia in scale and drama. Towering granite walls, hanging glaciers, and remote valleys set the stage for hiking days in complete wilderness. This is Greenland at its most raw and alpine, with endless views and true expedition-style exploration ashore.
Prins Christian Sund – One of the World’s great sailing passages
A 110NM journey through a narrow fjord system where mountains rise over 1600 meters straight from the sea. Glaciers flow directly into the channel, ice drifts through the route, and navigation becomes slow, precise, and immersive. Often described as one of the most beautiful sailing passages on Earth, we know from previous expeditions this is true.
Sail and Hike South West Greenland

4 July & 14 August, 8 days
This leg offers rugged coastal sailing, numerous excursions on land – both in the mountains and the charming villages – iceberg safaris, fishing, and much more. The entire Southwest Greenland resembles a labyrinth of fjords of all sizes, join our expedition to explore them all!
Highlights;
Hiking in Tasermiut Fjord – Arctic Patagonia
The heart of the expedition is three days in Tasermiut Fjord, one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in Greenland. Towering 2000m granite walls rise straight from the sea, with iconic peaks like Ketil, Ulamertorsuaq and Nalumasortoq shaping a world-class alpine environment. Each day offers long hikes through untouched valleys, ridgelines, and glacial terrain, with optional fishing for Arctic char or quiet time on board surrounded by some of the most dramatic scenery in the Arctic.
Meeting Greenlandic culture in Nanortalik
We visit Nanortalik, a remote coastal community deeply connected to the sea and traditional Inuit life. Here we step ashore not just to explore, but to also meet the people that live here with the possibility of joining a kaffemik, sharing coffee and conversation with local families. It’s a rare insight into everyday life in South Greenland, where fishing, hunting, and community remain central to culture and identity.
Hot springs at Uunartoq – Arctic spa experience
At Uunartoq, natural geothermal pools sit directly beside drifting icebergs. After days of sailing and hiking, we anchor in a quiet bay and go ashore to soak in warm water surrounded by Arctic wilderness. A perfect way to close the expedition.
Greenlands West Coast

11 July & 4 August, 10Â days
On this leg, we visit Sisimiut, a charming and picturesque place, and Greenland’s second-largest city. Some nights we find a secluded anchorage, while others we sail through the bright night under the midnight sun and towering icebergs. We explore the Ilulissat Icefjord. Where the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier calves into the fjord, birthing the world’s largest icebergs directly from the vast inland ice sheet.Â
Highlights;
Sailing into the ice at Bredefjord
We enter the world of the inland ice at Bredefjord, where green fjords give way to raw glacial terrain and drifting icebergs. Over breakfast we cruise past active glacier fronts, hearing the deep cracks and distant thunder of calving ice. It’s a rare chance to sail right into the edge of the Greenland Ice Sheet before anchoring beneath its vast presence.
Long coastal passages and offshore watch systems
This expedition includes several extended sailing legs along Greenland’s west coast, including passages between Nuuk, Paamiut, Maniitsoq, and Sisimiut. These are full offshore sailing days and nights, where we operate in a proper watch system, sharing navigation, helming, lookout, and sail handling as a crew. Conditions vary from sheltered fjord sailing to more exposed coastal waters, making these passages a core part of the expedition experience and a true introduction to expedition seamanship. During the trip we step ashore not just to explore, but to also meet the people that live here with the possibility of joining a kaffemik, sharing coffee and conversation with local families. It’s a rare insight into everyday life in South Greenland, where fishing, hunting, and community remain central to culture and identity.
Eternity Fjord & Arctic wilderness exploration
We sail into Eternity Fjord, a vast glacial system where mountains rise steeply from the sea and ice dominates the landscape. Here we explore by both boat and foot, moving through one of the most dramatic fjord environments in Greenland, with time for hiking, anchoring in silence, and experiencing the scale of the Arctic wilderness up close.
Greenlands West Coast

21 & 28 July, 8 days
From Sisimiut to Ilulisat. On this leg, you’ll witness many of Greenland’s treasures. From the bustling wildlife and massive icebergs of Disko Bay to the world’s smallest capital, with coastal sailing and ocean passages.Â
Highlights;
Remote coastal sailing & Arctic fishing grounds
We sail north from Sisimiut through an untouched coastline of islands, fjords, and skerries. This is hands-on sailing in shifting conditions, with active navigation through the inner leads and real expedition seamanship. Along the way we fish Arctic char at river mouths and cod in deeper waters, often bringing fresh catch straight from sea to table.
Disko Island & glacier viewpoint above Qeqertarsuaq
On Disko Island, we hike from Qeqertarsuaq up toward the glacier-fed mountains above town. From the high ground, Disko Bay opens up below with drifting icebergs and frequent whale sightings. This is one of the most striking viewpoints of the trip, combining Arctic geology, open tundra, and vast ocean scenery. During the trip we step ashore not just to explore, but to also meet the people that live here with the possibility of joining a kaffemik, sharing coffee and conversation with local families. It’s a rare insight into everyday life in South Greenland, where fishing, hunting, and community remain central to culture and identity.
Sailing into the ice – Ilulissat Icefjord
We enter the ice-filled waters of Ilulissat Icefjord, where icebergs from one of the world’s most active glaciers dominate the seascape. Navigation becomes slow and precise as we weave between drifting and grounded ice, often alongside humpback whales feeding in the rich Arctic waters. It is one of the most visually powerful sailing environments in Greenland.
