Welcome on board our new, unique Expedition Boat, Goxsheim, a wooden boat built in 1940.

Goxsheim is our unique traditional sailing yacht. Built 1940 originally as a fishing and freight boat i Hatlestrand, Hardanger, in Western Norway. She has later been rigged as a sailing boat, and has been used for northern lights, whales and ski&sail expeditions far north in the later years.

The craftsmanship, the wooden boat traditions and the wealth of detail in this galeas make just being on board an adventure in itself!

General information

Goxsheim is 72 feet long, weighs 110 tons and is an incredibly solid and strong Galeas rigged “Hardangerkutter”. She copes with all the weather and wind that our North Norwegian coast and Arctic waters can offer. This is a real outdoor boat. With plenty of space on deck, there is a range of opportunities to enjoy the spectacular scenery, the midnight sun or the northern lights. On board Goxsheim, we can also guarantee that you will get the feeling of being part of the new Norwegian edition of “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

Below deck, there is plenty of space with a galley amidships and a large and a cozy saloon with a fireplace that ensures a social experience for everyone on board. Goxsheim has 4 cabins for our guests, together with crew quarters. Comfort is ensured by a good central heating water-borne heating system, and all the beds are comfortable with good and warm down duvets and pillows.
