Helgeland
World’s finest coastline?
Helgeland sailing trip (4-day experience for employees)
The legendary Helgeland coast is known for its 6,500 islands, islets and skerries, rich marine life and abundant birdlife. It’s a perfect setting for sailing through the beautiful archipelago of the Vega Islands. Along the way, you can enrich the sailing and nature experience with fishing, hikes, great food and cultural stops.
For professional sessions and updates, you can use our lodge Himmelblå Brygge on Ylvingen. Here it’s possible to hold a conference session and wrap up with a great dinner at the pier restaurant.

Suggested 4-day program
- Day 1: Arrival in Brønnøysund, sailing to Torghatten. We start with a joint briefing on the pier before boarding the boats, getting to know each other on board, stowing provisions and allocating tasks. We go through basic sailing theory, routines and safety procedures on board before casting off and setting course for Møyhamna at Torghatten.
- Day 2: Morning hike to Torghatten and sailing around Veg. Breakfast and a hike up Torghatten. After that we sail around Vega and into the Vega Archipelago World Heritage Area, with its 6,500 islands and islets. In the afternoon we continue to Næs on Vega and moor there for the night.
- Day 3: Visit to Vega World Heritage Centre and sail to “Himmelblå” on Ylvingen. Guided visit at the Vega World Heritage Centre. Then we cast off and set sail towards the “Himmelblå” island Ylvingen. Out on the fjord we practice boat handling and safety. If conditions allow, we stop and try to catch our own dinner. If fishing doesn’t deliver, we enjoy a great dinner at Himmelblå Brygge or on board the boat at Ylvingen.
- Day 4: Time on land at Ylvingen and race to Brønnøysund. Either a morning hike to the German coastal fort at the island’s highest point, “Tyskerhåjen”, or rental of kayaks and sailing dinghies to experience the island from the sea. After lunch, the final leg goes to Brønnøysund with a mini race (“kappseilas”). It’s a perfect opportunity to build team spirit while enjoying the region’s beautiful scenery. Thank you for a great trip!
