Frequently asked questions

You probably have a lot of questions!

Before you book

What kind of corporate sailing trips do you offer?

We design corporate sailing trips for kick-offs, team building, leadership offsites, incentive trips, and client/partner events. Every program is tailored to your goals, group and budget.

Who is this suitable for?

Teams that want a shared experience that strengthens collaboration, communication and morale. Works well for leadership groups and larger teams, and for mixed groups with different fitness levels.

How is this different from “regular” team building?

Sailing creates a real-life collaboration framework: shared goals, clear roles, communication, and collective achievement, without feeling like a typical course or workshop.

Is it necessary with sailing experience?

No! You don’t need prior experience. Our professional skippers/instructors handle safety and sailing. You can participate as much or as little as you like.

Where do the trips take place?

We mainly operate in Norway’s northern part of the west coast, but also including the Oslofjorden and parts of Skagerack. Routes are adapted to your time frame, travel distance, weather and ambitions.

Planning & customization

What does a typical corporate sailing trip look like?

A typical mix includes sailing, simple collaboration tasks on board, shared meals, and time ashore. Many teams also add a short meeting point or workshop element along with a lunch/dinner ashore.

Can we include meetins, workshops or professional agenda?

Yes. We can facilitate light meeting formats on board and/or combine sailing with a meeting venue on land.

Can you tailor the trip around a theme or company agenda?

Yes. We can build the program around themes like leadership, team dynamics, culture/values, or a strategic kick-off, ranging from social and light to more goal-driven.

Can you help us with internal invites and participant communication?

Yes. We can provide a short invite template, practical pre-trip info (packing list, timing, expectations), and a “what to expect” text you can share internally.

Practicalities & delivery

How many people can you arrange for?

From small groups (typically 6–12 per boat) to larger groups by using multiple boats in parallel. Capacity depends on route, season and comfort level (up to 100 people).

How much time should we set aside?

Common formats:

  • 3-4 days (strongest impact on relationships and collaboration)
  • 1 day (kick-off, short, effective team boost for larger teams)

Is this for everyone – even for people who don’t love “the outdoors”?

Often, yes. People can contribute at different levels: some enjoy hands-on sailing, others prefer the social aspect, scenery, conversation and lighter roles. We design the program to include everyone.

Can we combine sailing with activities on land?

Yes, of course. Depending on location and time, we can combine sailing with options like dinner, sauna, time ashore, or other local experiences.

Safety & weather

Is it safe?

Yes. Safety is core: experienced skippers, safety briefing, required equipment and clear routines. The program is adapted to the group and conditions.

What if the weather is bad?

We plan with the weather in mind. In challenging conditions we adapt route and program, and/or shift more of the experience to sheltered waters or time ashore. The goal is a safe, great experience, not “maximum sailing no matter what.”

What time of year can we go?

Most corporate trips run in spring, summer and early autumn, with options outside peak season depending on location and program.

Food, accommodation & logistics

How does the overnight accommodation on board work?

Guests sleep in berths/cabins on the boats. Comfort level varies by boat type. We align expectations early, and can also combine with accommodation on land if preferred.

How do you handle food and drinks?

We offer several options: self-catering on board, catering, restaurants on land, or a combination. We tailor it to your preferred level and style.

Can you accommodate dietary needs and allergies?

Yes. We handle common requirements (vegetarian/vegan, gluten-/lactose-free, allergies) as long as we receive information in advance.

What should participants pack?

We’ll present a general packing list for each trip type, but generally: wind/rain jacket, warm layers, and shoes that can handle a bit of water. Dressing for changing conditions matters most.

How do we get to and from the boats?

We agree on meeting points, timing and logistics in advance. If needed, we can suggest a simple arrival/transport plan that fits your agenda.

Pricing, terms & administration

What’s included in the price?

Typically: boat(s), skipper(s), planning and delivery. Accommodation, food, transport and add-on activities can be included or priced separately—you’ll receive a clear specification.

How much does a corporate sailing trip cost?

Pricing depends on destination, group size, duration, number of boats, season, itinerary and comfort level. We can provide a quick estimate first, followed by a detailed quote.

What are your cancellation and payment terms?

Terms depend on the program and timing. We always provide clear terms & conditions with the quote, including deadlines, changes in headcount and payment schedule.
